A tiling job is all about the preparation. Get the preparation stage right and the rest will fall into place. That means the wall needs to be flat and in good condition, and you need to make sure your first course is perfectly level. A small mistake here and the problem gets worse and worse the higher you go. Also, have a good look at the room you’re tiling and decide whether you need to centre the tiles on any of the windows for a symmetrical finish and try and predict where your cuts are going to be in the corners, so that you don’t end up having to cut narrow little slivers of tiles, as that is virtually impossible to do. Then, do you have the right adhesive for the type of tiles and the material you’re gluing them to?
